What Is Keys in Hand?
Rent-to-own, without changing how you rent
Keys in Hand is a rent-to-own program from Patry Group. While you rent, your monthly rent builds credit toward a down payment of up to 5%* on a home of your own.
When you are ready to buy, those credits go toward a Patry condo, townhome or house in the Kingston area. There are no fees to join, and nothing is due up front.

How It Works
Four steps from your first month's rent to the keys in your hand

Move In
Lease from a participating Keys in Hand rental provider to be enrolled.

Every month of rent builds credit toward a down payment of up to 5%* on your future home.

Pick a home from Patry's partner home communities in the Kingston area.

Get the Keys
Your accumulated rent credits become the down payment on your new home.

You still qualify for a mortgage
Keys in Hand builds your down payment, but lenders' requirements still apply. The program's mortgage specialists and financial advisors help with credit building and pre-approval along the way.
Works with government programs
Rent credits can be combined with a First Home Savings Account (FHSA) and other first-time buyer incentives.
Not buying? Pass it on
If homeownership is not your next step, your credits may be transferable to an immediate family member, depending on your circumstances.
